Lost My Lights
Bob Nanna is one of my favorite songwriters. Braid, Hey Mercedes and City on Film are some of my favorite indie rock endeavors of all time, not to mention Friction and other bands I’m probably forgetting. I was surprised and saddened, however, to learn that he has cancer and is currently undergoing treatment.
His City on Film blog has become a journal chronicling his illness.
I can’t describe how sad this makes me feel. But his tone is generally upbeat and optimistic, even as he describes the various treatment-related tortures he’s forced to endure. Somehow he still even plays shows.
Fingers crossed that he gets well soon.
